Just know that lactic acidosis is VERY rare. Like 1 in 33,000 people get it. My husband jokes that he 'always knew I was a rare bird, but this just confirms it!' This is not something that you can get just by upping dosages. It did happen to me, but all 3 of the endocrinologists who worked on me in the hospital said that I was their only case (EVER) and would likely be the only case (EVER) that they saw in their lifetimes of practicing medicine, and two of them are regular endos with hundreds of diabetics on met for treatment. Just keep track of how you're feeling and keep your dr. posted. And keep in mind that you might be more IR than I am and might need more met than I did.
