Fasting insulin result: 24. Is this serious? Not according to my doctor...

Hi everyone!

I had a fasting insulin test done and the result was 24. Normal range according to the lab is 0-20, but no special range for fasting. I couldn't talk my dr into doing the GTT. I have read on here that anything over 10 for a fasting insulin is too high. Where exactly can I find documentation on what the normal fasting insulin results should be? My fasting blood sugar level was 98, high end of normal range. I have been diagnosed with PCO for 12 years now, and very excited that there is hope out there for me. Just need to find someone who is knowledgeable or willing to learn about it...

Thanks a bunch!
