My 17 year old daughter has had wonderful results on metformin. She had rapidly gained 40 pounds. After 4 months on met we were beginning to see a difference. At 6 months we were shocked. Now, the weight is all gone. She stayed at a low dose - 500mg daily for about 2 months and went up very slowly. She eventually got to the 1,500 mg dose she takes now and has been there since the 4th month. Try to be patient. It one of the hardest things to do but it was worth it! Take care!
