Hayley, I'm not sure about the meds in the UK, someone else will probably be able to help with that. I would hold off with the current prescription you have if you can get to a doctor soon. Since insulin resistance seems to be at the root of PCOS, surgery doesn't always solve the problem. It probably alleviates a lot but some of it will still be there.

A scan probably isn't necessary unless you are having a lot of pain. It might help the doctor confirm his diagnosis though. It depends on the doctor and how knowledgeable he is.
