Hi Katie, I have been on met for a year now and just last month my insurance decided they didnt have to cover it because the FDA hasn't approved it yet for this use, even worse they are attacking me for a years worth of backpay. The good news is, is that I submit my insurances denail letter and some notes of my history to my Dr. begging him to write them a note for me. Well, he sure did and what he stated in the note was simply "While the patient may be diagonsed with PCOS, I presribed her the glucophage for her insulin resistence, which ,by the way, is approved by the FDA for that use. So it would be in you best interest to cover this medication for yopur patient. I am currently awaiting a response to this note, but I feel pretty confident that it was a brillant approach. I hope this will help you in some way. Regards, Melanie
