Re: Metformin success stories From: anonymous@obgyn.net Tue, 18 Jul 2000 14:01:16 -0400 Messages sorted by: [ date ][ thread ][ subject ][ author ] Next message: Shanda: "pcos" Previous message: Gretchen: "Re: Metformin success stories" rumika, been on avandia for a month and a half.. have not heard of many people on it... let me know how it goes for you... i'm very interested in hearing others stories of their experiences with avandia. my experience so far: met worked real well while i was on it.. bad with the dosing though. my schedule is so eratic that taking something 3x a day was a bit tough.. and the gi symptoms! yuck. really got in the way having to run to the restroom all the time.. so... on avandia now. 4mg once a day. not loosing wieght. but am getting my period. hair growth has slowed down abit... not having hair loss so can't comment on that. abit more energy.. on met i had lost wieght, slowed hair growth.. all the good things, fairly immediately noticable. so all in all the avandia isn't moving as quickly but... we'll see i suppose.. atleast i've been able to keep up with this dosing regimen... has anyone been on it longer? does it start to have a more dramatic effect the longer you're on it? is this as good as it gets? During the the fourth week, I did have a period which made me very happy. As for weight loss, I lost a couple of lgs and know that this will continue as long as I get a period every month. In August, I will see my dr and perhaps increase my Avandia dose if the weight loss does not continue. I think it will be slow, but steady. Taking Avandia is a great idea for you since you had problems with Glucophage. I am surprised you tolerated it for so long since my experience with it lasted less than a week.
