Diabetes at 26

Hi everyone. I got some test results from my new doctor today. She says I have "turned the corner" and now have diabetes. I'm 26 and have been on metformin for 2 years. I have completely normal fasting glucose and fasting insulin, but I guess my glucose rose to the diabetic level during the 2-hour test where you have a glucose-loaded orange beverage. I'm really irked because I gave lots of money to the well-renowned PCOS expert Dr. Glueck, but he never performed this test, and therefore *always* reported that I was improving because my fasting insulin went down--and is still way down. Anyway, I guess this is kind of a vent--and a warning. I'm 26, 5'7, 200 lbs, have been on the max dose of metformin for 2 years, and now have diabetes!
