Re: Hair Help

Hi Vena, I am desperate to do something about my hair loss. I've been on Cyproterone Acetate (an antiandrogen that is legal up here in Canada) for about 13 years and bcp's for about 4 years. I'm not sure my hair loss has got much worse, but it is certainly no better. It is noticeable to pretty much anyone and causes me enormous grief. Oh, I've also been using minoxidil 2% for about 1.5 years. I only apply it to the front hairline, because that's where the thinning is most noticeable. I had used it once before for about 2 years and thought I noticed a real improvement after only about 8 months or so. Then I stopped for 3 months and it came out in handfuls. This second round of effort doesn't seem to be as helpful. In what pattern do you distribute your minoxidil and do you use 2% or 5%? Also, do you use hte Nioxin shampoo every day? Do you bother with the after-shampoo lotion and conditioner in the line?

Absolutely any specific advice would be appreciated. I am obsessing about my hair loss.

Thanks -- Alina
