Dear Lise,

My mother had that surgery as well after losing hope that she'd ever lose weight. A year and half later, she'd lost tons of weight, but still felt crappy, so I recommended that she see my RE. Turns out she's had PCOS all these years. He put her on Met and she's feeling great and looking good. The RE said that the surgery certainly makes it where you can't eat and so you must lose weight, but why feel less than your best in your new body? If you have IR - treat it! There's no sense in having your body work hard to function properly.

Sincerely, Maggie
