PCOS and metforminFrom: Abha (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 21 Jun 2000 08:25:21 -0500
My age is 33 and I have been diagnosed as having PCOS but in most literature, it is said that the primary indication / symptom of PCOS is irregular periods or no periods. However, I have always had very regular periods of 28 days cycle (for the last 17-18 years). Is it possible to have regular cycles despite the fact that I have PCOS. Also, I do not have excess hair growth - rather the gair growth on my arms is so poor that I have never felt the need for waxing or other hair removal procedures. Along with PCOS, I also have high levels of of Prolactin (541.7 uIU/L - normal range being 72-511) I am currently on metformin (500 mg) twice daily for the last 3 and a half months but have not been able to conceive. What other treatment can / should I take to be able to conceive.
