Turned Down for GTT Test

Has anyone heard of this before? My mother went for a three hour GTT test Saturday. They tested her blood sugar and it was 150 and they told her they couldn't give her the test because her blood sugar was too high. Someone else tested it (at the same time) and said it was 145. Can your blood sugar be too high to have the GTT? If so, what's the point of having a GTT in the first place?
