HELP - Anyone else out there been on Met more than 6 mos. with no positive results?From: Kathy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 10 Jun 2000 09:42:17 -0500 (CDT)
I am currently at the highest doseage of Metformin (2550 mg/day) and have been for almost 2 months. I have had two periods in the last 6 months, but have notlost any weight, and my hair growth is just as active. I have been sick as a dog for 6 weeks off and on. I even threw up on Thursday! I worked my way up more slowly than the dr. recommended because of the side effects. I am fine for maybe 4 or 5 days, then the diarreha hits, or the nausea, or both! I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired!!! But what alternative do I have? If Met doesn't work for me, what else is there? Is there anyone else out there who has been on Met for a long time and not seeing any positive results? Maybe I am not being patient enough (I have no patience!), but how long should I give this a try? I have been taking Met since last October! Any help would be great. Thanks! Kathy
