Hi Jolene...

ummm, no but I wish I were... I'm an attorney by training (don't cringe... hee hee hee), and a contract negotiator/compliance officer/in-house counsel/jack of all trades by profession... =o)

Clara -

Are you an educator by training? You always have very clear answers to folks' questions.

Thanks for offering your wealth of knowledge so freely!

>From what I have read and from what I have learned from my doctors, Met is
not addictive, so discontinuing use should not result in withdrawal; maybe what happened with you had to do with your insulin levels (kind of like a diabetic who strays from the regimen or forgets his regular medicine).

I don't worry about becoming dependent on it... I already know that my body needs to depend on some kind of medication for the rest of my life in order to control my PCOS... that's about the status quo with all of us here, I'd say.

Finally, I was warned that missed dosages would decrease the effectiveness of the medication (kind of keeps your body in a yo-yo state, and that is not good); try to keep your daily dosage in a place where you will not forget and where it is not likely to be lost (I keep my pills in my laptop-briefcase, so I always know where they are, no matter where I am. If I go on vacation, they are with my hairbrush/toothbrush in my cosmetic bag).

Anyway, try not to worry too much....
