Now doc says I've tested positive for some antibody that makes one prone to celiac sprue, which is a condition where your body doesn't absorb nutrients properly due to an allergy to anything with gluten (wheat, rye, barley). It causes many of the same symptoms as PCO,(which I also have according to sonogram), including, fatigue, edema, hunger, skin problems. Well, at least now I know probably why I don't have the weight problem of PCO. Met has screwed up my stomach (but so does this other condition), so the doctor wants first to figure out whether I've got the celiac, then probably switch to Avandia for the PCO. What a mess. Anyone else this screwed up metabolically?
