Re: No sickness with Metformin

I started met on May 31st. With my doctor's okay, I started with just 500mg a day at dinner. After four days, I went ahead and added 500mg with breakfast, so far so good. I have had the slightest twinges of discomfort, but so little that it was no big deal, and only maybe three times total. No "runs" (excuse me), gas, or any other thing I had expected. I think I'll add the other 500mg on wednesday.

I had that same feeling "is it working since I can't feel anything?". I guess time will tell. If I have a period in the next several weeks, that will be a good indication that it is working. I see my doctor again in three months, and I assume he'll be doing blood work, so that will really confirm if it's doing any good.

Should I be concerned with or monitering low blood sugar in connection with taking this medication? (I am not diabetic).
