Re: Metformin and Imodium AD

same here, I have also tried it once (the last time I had an episode), and it did help me; my RE said that it would not counteract or interfere with my Metformin or my Spironolactone....

Also, I notice now that the only time I get any bad symptoms, it is because I am late or miss a dose (happened twice so far and each time I missed the dose and took my regular dosage the next day, I experienced gastrointestinal distress).

now I try really hard not to miss my dosages! (not easy for someone who is not accustomed to routines)

Yes--I've done it with success, and my RE said it wouldn't hurt anything. I took only one Immodium pill with a dose of met (at the time I was taking met 2x per day), and it seemed to alleviate the (ahem) gastrointestinal distress. If for some reason I forget a dose and don't realize it until the next day, I will take an Immodium pill as a precaution with the last two doses of met I take that day.
