Samantha:

Your story sounds identical to mine!! I can also imagine how many others are saying the same thing!! I am also fed up with hearing "lose weight" as a solution to all my problems! It's like...."hello...I try...it won't happen...no matter what I do!!" Took me a long time to realize that YES, THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM!! (soory about the scream!) Anyway, if it's possible, you may want to consider looking for a new physician...one that can actually "help" you. The PCOS support site has recommended physicians...check it out! Also, no one could help me with my weight either. I tried and tried and tried. Four doctors later...I was still trying to lose the 100+ lbs I had gained in the past 6 years! Then, I got involved in this board...it has helped tremendously. I have been following a low-carb diet (and taking supplements) since the end of March and have lost 18 lbs. I feel alot better & have much more energy!! Also quit smoking as of yesterday!! I chose to do this on my own because of advice posted here & hope to continue until my appt at Bringham & Womens in Boston on June 30. Not sure if I want the Met...I'm a little scared of some of the side effects people have described.

Good Luck, :-) Alexis Samantha wrote:
