Hi...

Metformin is supposed to address your insulin resistance which is thought to be the underlying cause of our failure to ovulate (those of us with PCOS).. so yes, at some point, if it happens to work for you, it should make you ovulate and have periods and the whole bit.

Met can be used alone or in combination with Spironolactone (my current cocktail) or can also be combined with Clomid (for those who are TTC)....

I was diagnosed a few months ago and haven't been put on any medications yet. Just provera. i want to try and concieve but if i go on metforim will it help me? Also will it regulate my period? I'm not worried about my weight or acne or anything but my doctor refuses to even talk about clomid with me so is metforim the way to go? melissa
