Hi Tammy....

The Met made me kind of tired, too, at first... No, actually, it might still be making me tired (it's a toss-up between the Met and the heatwave we're experiencing where I live). Anyway, while I have heard that some folks can lose weight just by taking the Met, I am not one of those lucky people. One thing that I do find is that it is easier for me to shed a pound or two while I take Met. For example, prior to taking Met, I would diet for a week and at the end of the week lose nothing. Once I started taking the Met, I kept to the same regimen, and found that I was actually able to lose a couple of pounds in a week. Now I am kicking into a low-carb program/lifestyle, and I am not sure yet, but I think that this will work to help me steadily shed the pounds. I have read so many posts here from women who have combined Met and some form of low carbing successfully, so I have to try! As far as your urine being dark, you definitely need to be drinking more water. Also, if you have had diarrhea, remember that it dehydrates your body, so you need to drink water to replenish your body's supply. As far as foods... oh geez, how can anyone be specific? We all like different things! I am sticking to lots of lean meats (boneless/skinless chicken, ground turkey, fish, shrimp, 98% lean ground beef, very lean steaks or strips of beef). Ditto for Eggs... I eat them and tunafish much more than before... they are quick fixes and easy to make for lunch. I am eating lots of cauliflower (did you know that there are zillions of things to do to it to make it taste really good?), lots of leafy greens, like swiss chard, dandelion greens, kale, spinach, collard, mezclun salad mix, arugula), broccoli, aparagus, green bans, pinto beans, baby zucchini and baby yellow squash, kohlrabe, jicama, green onions, I have altered my fruit intake by eliminating citrus with the exception of an occasional half-grapefruit or some fresh lemon squeezed into my water or on some of my foods, I also eat strawberries and raspberries and blackberries and sometimes blueberries and also kiwifruit (all are high in fiber), I've switched from regular milk to soy milk, I use heavy cream and butter and olive oil in my cooking... and I've "tossed" all pasta, rice, bread & cereal to my dear husband.....

Does this help?

Bottom line, I think, is to get a book of nutritional values and then decide for yourself which foods you like & want to eat, and which ones that you really need to cut out of your diet, no matter how much you love them!

Good luck to you!

Clara

I just started on Met almost 2 weeks ago, I have had stomach upset and nauseau, but no throwing up. I am very tired and find it hard to stay on my task at hand. is this normal? also, I really want to lose weight, but wonder what would be the best thing. should I low carb? I have lost a few pounds already, but it seems to easy to say the medicine will just do it by itself! (nothing comes that easy for me~smile~) I have noticed that my urine is really concentrated too, should I be drinking more water? yes, I have had diarreah and gastro problems, at times unbearable, but I keep telling myself it should pass! has anyone been on it a long time and has success that can give some good input? what are the best things to be eating, be specific!!

Thanks!
