Metformin will lower your insulin levels but not your blood glucose. It only mildly helps with weight loss. It's main function is to help your body use the insulin that you create, thereby helping with insulin resistance. It does help lower the testosterone levels which may in turn help with facial hair but I wouldn't take it if that's what you want it to do.
