Re: Birth Control pills & weight gain??From: Talia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 19 May 2000 18:02:04 -0400
Allison, Thanks for sharing you experience. I'm 27 and was diagnosed at 25--for infertility reasons--conceived & gave birth, but had not sought out any treatment after that. I was afraid my doc would just say go on bcp, which is exactally what he did. I had taken bcp before and gained a lot of weight. When I told him that was the reason I did not want to go back on them, he said it had nothing to do with the pill, but with "hand to mouth disease"--whatever. Anyway, he wanted to put me on ortho tri cyclen (he said it was good for pcos, but I really think he knows very little about pcos), but gave me a month to think about it because I was so wary. Now I will definately NOT go on ortho. I have read from several post on this list that some ladies have had success with a pill called Demulen 1/50 or Demulen 1/35--I do not know the difference. Maybe you could try those out. That is what I think I'll do. Let me know how you make out. My follow up appointment is next week...we'll see what happens! Talia ( talia@vicon.net )
