I got pregnant off gonal-f the second month. I was monitored once a week and 3 days a week on the week of ovulation. It must be monitored carefully and is expensive. The daily shots aren't always covered by insurance and it ran us about 200 a month for our part of the shots. We combined gonal-f and IVF. My side affects were minimal, much like clomid affects. I cannot remember exact dosage. It's been two years but I know my doctor started with the lowest amount of dosage the first two months to see if I would respond, to avoid hyperstimulation. My girlfriends doctor started with the highest dosage first and she had twins. I appreciated my doctors careful administration of the drug started with the lowest ampules first and increasing it if I didn't respond. My thoughts are with you. I don't know where you are but I have an awesome doctor in dallas if you need one.-Brooke P.S. My doctor always put me on two months of birth control first before starting the gonal so that my periods would be regular and so that I would have a healthy uterine lining to hold the baby. At the time I hated going back on the pill but I am grateful because it made my cycle regular and I feel I responede and held the baby better. >>>--

>>>Hi I wwas on Gonal F for 6 cycles with no succes. While I was on it my cycles where never as they should have been on the medication meaning that it should be very controlled and the doctor could not explain to me when I would bleed or an egg would release. For me I did not like it I always felt there was something else that was missing.
