I was diagnosed on Friday with PCOS. I am not sure I understand this diagnosis, because I still have regular periods and I am not overweight. I do have the extremely oily/acne prone skin, and a small amount of excess body hair. I have been losing hair like crazy and my hair is much thinner now then it was a year ago. My gyno. said this is NOT because of my PCOS. I thought that loss of hair WAS a side effect? Am I wrong or is she wrong? UGH so frustrating. Also, she put me on Ortho-trycyclen to lessen some side effects of PCOS. Has anyone had any benefits from this pill? Isn't Diane-35 more beneficial? Do I need to be on an anti-androgen?
