Hi some_1

I've been on ciproterone acetate (Androcur)for about 11 years (since I was 20)- it is approved here in South Africa. It was initially prescribed for me to reduce acne (which it did, dramatically, in 2 -3 months), but has also helped reduce mild hirsutism especially on jawline & upper lip. I started on 100mg for days 5 - 14 of my cycle, but over the last couple of years have reduced this gradually to 12.5mg (1/4 tablet) for those 10 days, with no deterioration in my skin or thickening of facial hair. No obvious side effects for me, though from internet pages & articles I gather side effects include possible depression (& I have felt more energetic since reducing my dose)& weight gain at a dose of 100mg.

Good luck
