I just got a Rx from my gyn for spirolactone last Fri. I have had 2 surgeries for cysts. Trust me it is not fun. I found a pill called DEsogen made by a company called Organol and I have not gained weight on it. It is true Bcps protect your fertility and reduce your risk of endometrial cancer. PCOS women do not shed the uterine lining with a cycle and this can build up and cause cancer. I also hate the idea of taking the pills, but a very dear physician friend told me if I did not I would probably end up having to have a hysterectomy because my cysts tend to grow large. I also want to have children just not right now.So, I went to a reproductive endo, highly recommended.
