According to The Merck Manual, 16th edition, Cyproterone Acetate is a potent progestational agent and an antiandrogen which appears to control hirsutism in 50-75% of affected women. It is used to treat hirsute women throughout the world except in the USA, where it has not been approved because of its propensity to cause breast cancer in beagles and fetal anomalies in pregnant rats. Significant side effects include decreased libido and depression. That's all the info I could find on Cyproterone Acetate. Good luck to you, April
