wow. can we clone him & distribute the clones to all major cities/metropolitan areas and a few out of the way places as well? << GRIN >> Clara (p.s. I am not trying to get pregnant just yet, but i have a sneaking suspicion that when I do, I will need a doctor like the one you describe!) -----Original Message----- From: anonymous@obgyn.net [mailto:anonymous@obgyn.net Sent: Wednesday, May 03, 2000 11:11 PM To: Multiple recipients of list PCOS-MEDICATION Subject: Re: Metformin (Glucophage) and pregnancy: continue or quit? Hi, Just wanted to share my experience--I got pregnant on Metformin and was told by my Repro Endocrinologist that his advice was to discontinue the drug. I brought in a copy of Dr. Glueck's web page and also a journal article and told my doctor I would like to continue Metformin because I had a previous miscarriage, at least through my first trimester. He discussed with me that there have been no reports of birth defects on Metformin (in women with Diabetes), and he agreed that I could continue at my own risk. So now I'm 18 weeks pregnant, and I tapered off the Metformin at 16 weeks, because by then the placenta has completely taken over production of the pregnancy hormones. So far, so good. I was pleased that my doctor let me make my own informed decision. Good luck to you.
