To Cathy (& all)--Re: GLUCOPHAGE AND TESTOSTERONE

Cathy, Are you taking the exact same Demulen 1/50 as Erika was asking about? I heard someone else on this board refer to Demulen 1/35 and I wonder what is the difference? Do you (or anyone else) know? My tightly controlled hmo doctor (read: they won't pay for met) has given me the choice of bcp (he said orthtricyclen, but I've heard negative comments about that on this board) or provera once every 3 mths just so that I have a cycle and I'm trying to decide what would be best. Does anyone have any suggestions? I swear sometimes I think these doctors act like as long as you bleed once a month for 3 to 7 days, who cares what else is wrong with you. It just seems like that was his only concern and here I sit with all these other symptoms/problems that are just as important to me as the regular cycles, but that was all he cared about. Sigh....I'm off on a tangent. I really needed to vent to people who can understand. Thanks. Does anyone who takes met pay for it out of their own pocket? I'm wondering how exorbitant my costs would be if I just paid for it myself. Thanks again, Talia
