I'm on Demulen 1/50, and have been since July. It is a high-dose bcp (don't know if it's high dose estrogen or progesterone, just that it's high dose), and it has been wonderful. The low-estrogen pills made me feel horrible, and were very ineffective, both at inducing periods and helping to control the effects of high testosterone levels. I will not be on it forever; the plan is to revisit this issue in June and discuss our fertility options. The only side-effects I've had (at the beginning only)were nausea (I take it now at night, before bed) and breast tenderness (went away within a month or so).
