Re: Why Low -CarbFrom: Sue (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 17 Apr 2000 07:59:44 -0500 (CDT)
>Why is it so important to eat a high protein diet while on Met?< It isn't!!! Those who do low-carb do so because of choice, not a mandate. Met simply "levels the playing field" for those of us who are IR, and it magnifies whatever you are or aren't doing in terms of weight loss. High protein diets are impractical to maintain for life, and most who go one them gain the weight back when boredom sets in or they go off of it. I have been one of those people, having seriously tried a low-carb plan twice in my history; once before PCO made its appearance and once after. Neither produced any long-term success and just left me feeling deprived. I have had great success using the Weigh Down Workshop's plan (http:\\www.wdworkshop.com), and I never feel deprived. Good luck!
