I am on Avandia 8 mg and 1500mg of met a day. I have been on this for 2 months and gained about 15 lbs. Very Discouraging. I have my labs done in a couple of weeks. My labs just on met initially improved, but not good enough and then it never got better. Avandia alone didn't change the labs. Hopefully, I will be able to start clomid soon! I can say that I started excercising 3X a week and my monthly is 32 days instead on 45 days apart. I consider this a major improvement! Good Luck to all!

>>>Hi Micha, I'm back from my endo's appt. today. I didn't get the Avandia because the doc wants me to start Met over at very small doses and see if I tolerate it better and have a response. This makes no sense to me and I believe he is only doing this because of my weight. I have to wonder if he is also less comfortable with anything else because it is so new and requires liver monitoring for the first year. I see it as a certain amount of CYA also. He is concerned that I will gain 8-12 lbs on Avandia and while that would be no fun, it wouldn't be the end of the world if it DID happen. So I have a fresh prescription for bcps to try to level things out again hormonally, and I am pretty sure there isn't any hope for me and my metabolism. At least he didn't ask me if I had been eating nothing but corned beef sandwiches all day. :o&
