Monique:

Thanks for your encouragement! I am thinking that, as we continue to stay focused on breaking the old cycle and starting a new, healthier cycle, my husband and I will fall into a pattern similar to what you have described. In any case, that is our ultimate goal. You sound very confident and happy and it is wonderful to read your words and to feel the hope in them!

Thanks for starting my day on such a positive note!

Clara:

I read your post to Amy. Congratulations, sounds like you're taking some wonderful steps towards a happy, healthful way of life (which is not always easy for us PCOSers. For what it's worth, I've also been where you were (although I have never tried Prozak or anything like it) but the ups and downs were the same. Almost every six months, a new diet/exercise plan hits the market and people rave about it. I've tried every one and inevitably found them either to difficult to incorporate into my homelife (especially with kids at home) or in some cases too expensive. I've joined fitness classes and bought countless exercise machines and they all ended up in the basement collecting dust. Because it was so hard to conceive, when my first child was born I realized, although HE would never have PCOS problems, I didn't want him to suffer through the emotional problems and insecurities I lived with from being overweight so I changed my outlook. I took everything I learned from the many diets, threw out what didn't work, didn't fit into our lifestyle, and began eating foods we liked, that were healthy, cost effective and fun to eat. We eat REDUCED Fat, sugar, salt, but do not eliminate them. We treat carbs etc., as an additive to our meals, not the main course and exercise, well, we got rid of all of our exercise machines and now we simply go for walks, play with our kids and do housework with a vengeance. Believe me, when you make living life happy and healthy your goal rather than living life slim your goal, everything else, with a lot of patience and support, just seems to fall into place. I found that if I also concentrated on my strenghts and qualities, the flaws I saw seemed to retreat and were no longer very important.

Sorry for running on.
