Katie,

Aldactone is spironolactone -- It's the brand name. I take both and know that many others do, too. Your doctor can prescribe both.

As for finding a good doctor, you should post on the other board "Looking for a PCOS DR. in Boston area" in the subject line. Someone may recommend a dr. they know. Also, have you checked the list of doctors on the PCOSA website??

I think someone on the other obgyn pcos board said that Mass. Gen Hosp. had a good program. I am not sure so try doing a search on the archives for that hospital. It is out of my vicinity, but I seem to remember a posting to that effect. Hope this helps!
