Hi Beth. Avandia and Actos are the two new insulin sensitizers that came on
the market last summer. They are from a group called "glitizones" and many
people are happy with them. Dr. Cataldo from Stanford is really high on
them and thinks they are the drugs of the future. They don't have the same
mechanism of action as metformin but they do regulate the insulin. You
might ask about them!
