Glucophage dosage, is this right?

Hi everyone. Just went in today for my test results and learned that FSH/LH & Prolactin tests came back normal but the ultrasound did show cysts. Based on the ultrasound and my medical history/symptoms, I've got just about all the classic symptoms, she went ahead and prescribed the Glucophage and scheduled me for a follow-up in three months.

The prescribed dosage was 500 (one pill a day) but after reading here, I notice that most of you are only starting at 500 and working up to 1500 or more. She didn't comment very much about the medication at all and defenitely didn't say anything about increasing the dosage. My question is, is it normal to maintain that low of a dosage for three months or more? Will I see any improvement at that dosage? My main concern is the return of normal menstrual cycles and ovulation. I'm also on a low-carb diet and am hoping to start excerise next week.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
