My pharmacist gave me a big pamphlet on Met and it said that 3-4% of the patients who start on it stop due to the side effects. Most of the people who report that it does get better, say that it only took a month to feel better. Were you able to give it a whole month? I found the only thing that even came close to helping was eating a hearty meal with it, and even then I didn't want to get too far from a bathroom. I am going to be starting Avandia soon. Both Avandia and ACTOS are supposed to be in the same chemical class of drugs as Rezulin was. These two new drugs have been approved for a few months now. My doctors were very nervous about Rezulin by the time I got the correct referrals a year ago, so I got put on Met to see if it would do the trick, as both Avandia and ACTOS were not quite approved. There is yet another drug in the pipeline, INSMED-1, but it is still in the 3-5 year time period of testing. If you can find a study for it going on in your area then you can try it sooner. Otherwise ask about Avandia or ACTOS. Good luck!
