Re: prometrium and pcos?From: Katrina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Mar 2000 11:38:37 -0600 (CST)
It should not be necessary to wait 3 months for an endocrinologist. Is she experiencing any pain? You will most likely need to take her to your General Practitioner for the Insulin Resistance test. It is a long, almost full-day process. They should also do a Hypotheiroid test. you really need her to work with the Gynecologist. I am 25 and was only just recently diagnosed with PCOS. Other Dr.'s would say you're young, take some Prometrium and try to lose weight. Don't assume that it is PCOS, because it may be something else. Pursue this with her OB/GYN. This is the best site to come to, because you can get so much information. Good Luck to you!
