Jane Writes:
If I do not ovulate it has been mentioned that I
should have laser treatment. What does this involve?
Jane, I am going to assume that you mean a Laproscopy
and Ovarian Drilling by laser treatment.
What this involves is making a small incision by your belly button and
inserting a laproscope into your abdomen. The doctors will look at your
ovaries using a small camera mounted in the laproscope. Then, using a
laser, they will punch several small holes in to the outer layer of the
ovary (I think it is called the theca). This layer often "hardens"
making it difficult to ovulate. The holes are suppose to relieve some
of the androgen problems temporarily.
If I can find the referrent URL, I'll forward it to the list so you all
can see pictures of a healthy ovary and a PCOS ovary after it has had
the drilling done.
