Hi Catherine,

Your story sounds so familar to mine. I have the man body, acne on my face, butt, back of arms and back. I probably had this since I was eight years old. Now at 36 I have had the symptoms for the past 9 years very badly. I gone from doctor to doctor, been patted on the back and told "are'nt you lucky to be young and not have to deal with periods." " do you want tranquilizers" "Just lose some weight" "your fine and healthy" I have always felt that my weight, lack of periods, and the rotten way I felt was connected but never was able to get a doctor to agree. I had never even heard of pcos until a new doctor last year asked me if anyone had ever diagnosed me with that. She said I probably had it but then just walked out the door . NO help, no suggestions. Now after pursueing a gyn endocrinologist I am on Metformin, my weight has stopped climbing but I have a long way to go before I will be better. Good luck.
