I recently read the excellent article in Health magazine about PCOS. What an eye-opener! Good luck to all of you. But it hit me like a blow to the stomach because my daughter (20 yrs. old) has very infrequent periods and the gyn dr. put her on prometrium 20mg/day. this had regulated her periods, but now i'm wondering if she has pcos. she is about 20 pounds overweight and has mild acne. no other symptoms. i scheduled an appointment with an endocrinologist, but she has to wait 3 months for the appointment. could the prometrium be masking this condition? how do you test for insuling resistence? thank you, in advance, for your help.
