Re: A question to the ladies who are taking AldactoneFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 22 Mar 2000 10:43:48 -0800 (PST)
Anon, It never bothered my sleeping patterns either, and for that I'm grateful. I just took it before 6 p.m. b/c of the fact that at the time that I was taking it twice a day, and had to stop taking it after almost a year b/c it made my hands too hot. Now almost 3 years later it makes me wish that I wouldn't have gone off of it b/c of the water that I still retain thanks to the PCOS. Then I talked to the pharmacist about how to take my doses (being under the impression that I would take it 3 times a day), and then he tells me that my dr only gave me 3 tablets and that I take one each day. Right now I'm hoping to convince her to let me have it longer. I'm figuring at least a month should do me ok. Before I took the Aldactone starting in Nov of 1996 I had weighed in at 178, and now almost 3 years later I'm sitting the 159 mark and I would like to get down to 125 or even 120 if that is possible. I asked my pharmacy if that thing that I told you about it affecting the sleeping patterns holds true still and he said that it did, and that it probably wouldn't be a good idea to take after 4 p.m. only b/c of the fact that you are running to the bathroom so much. Of course that is just his thoughts on the subject. Thanks for writing to me about this topic. It is much appreciated.
