Re: I don't know what to do...From: Paula (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 21 Mar 2000 18:43:39 -0600
First of all Do not give up... your doctor sounds like she doesn't want to learn more about PCOS and you might have to look at another doctor before you get the treatment you need. If you haven't printed out the materials at the PCOSupport web site, please go to http://www.pcosupport.org/WomansDay/index.html You will need acrobat reader from adobe to read and print out the files you find there, but they will give you a list of questions that you can ask a potential doctor. The list of questions even ask you to think a bit after the appointment about what kind of experience you had with your doctor I guess my next question is where are you located? I have not been diagnosed. I read the article in Woman's Day and got really scared. I went to my doctor and she said that yes I probably do have it, but that I should just excersize more and eat less. I don't know where to turn. I've looked at several of the websites, but I can't find any other doctor's in my area. I have taken the quizzes and they scare me more than the article did. I have all the symptoms. My first cyst was found at age 12 and by 14 I had three. I have always had them, but my doctor told me there was no need for alarm. I am a gestational diabetic. I have had 2 sucessful children, however I have had 4 pregnancies. (one stillborn, one miscarriage) How did you find doctors? What kind of doctor's did you go to? Did go in knowing what to ask or did the doctor find it? Thanks for any information. I am just so confused and frightened.
