Kristy,

I take two 25 mg spironolactone tablets with food three times a day. (That's 150 mg per diem.) My endo suggested to take with each meal, and he did not mention anything about taking them all before 6:00 PM. I've not heard that one before. I sometimes miss taking the breakfast dose and then take it in the evening.

A lot of PCOS women seem to take more than my prescribed amount (from what I've read on the old board). My doctor would not increase my dosage when I told him about what I was reading on the other board. He seemed to think this was the right amount for me.

Did the doctor explain the reasoning for taking the spiro before 6:00 PM?? I'd like to know what the reason was.
