I am really worried about the side effects thing though. This is actually another question on the same topic... I started the Metformin 3 weeks ago and also noticed that high carbs or milk really affects how I'm feeling. My doctor wanted to put me on Progesterone only because I don't have problems with hirsutism and he said that he didn't think the Metformin would be as effective for me. The first couple days I took it, the side effects were better and worse, if you know what I mean. My stomach didn't really bother me but the diarreah was really bad. And I felt like I had a lot more energy. Now I'm really exhausted in the mornings until I get something in my stomach and I'm getting nauseous, but the diarreah's better. I'm still taking 500 mg 2x a day and I'm wondering if I should talk to my doctor about changing the dose? Browsing through the messages, I see that most people are on an increasing dosage schedule - is this a tolerance thing? My doctor has been open to suggestions since I brought in the information I downloaded from the PCOS net site. The other thing I was wondering is if someone could help me find some information about a diet (Ooooh, wrong word!) that would help the nausea. Like I said, I've been noticing that with carbs it's worse and so I've been cutting carbs down but I wonder if there's something else I can do to make the Metformin more effective. Thanks!
