Frustrated

I am super frustrated right now -- My MD had me tested 2+ weeks ago for PCOS (I have almost all of the visible symptoms: lack of peroids, facial hair, hair on abdomen, overwieght) So 2 weeks ago I had the blood tests. I have not yet heard from my physician about the results!

I talked with a nurse last week who told me that my kidney function was fine. I have no idea what that means in respect to the tests that were performed. She also told me that PCOS is not a matter of life or death and that it doesn't effect my every day life so I shouldn't be concerned which way the results go. I got off the phone and cried! I am a 23 year old woman -- I shouldn't have facial hair. It does effect my every day life because I pluck 20 hairs off of my face per day.

>From what I've read, PCOS may not be a matter of life or death today but
it may increase my likelihood of endometrial cancer. That is life or death!

I'd like to know if I have a name for my symptoms in order to treat them. I don't want to have PCOS but it seems that I have a lot of the physical sypmtoms. I'm just so frustrated because she (dr) isn't calling and I don't know what is going on. She had mentioned that she wanted to talk with the endocrinologist before she discussed the results with me. That is fair - how much time should I give her?

I'm sorry to vent like this -- my family and friends don't understand - they don't have these symptoms. Thanks for listening -- I'll update when I have my results.

Thanks! Cindy Madison, WI
