I dont know about atkins but a half cup of non-quick cooking oatmeal is very good for the zone diet.

which is why i mentioned it. it also fills you up all day..

plus, carbs sort of work like this: take the total carbs listed. subtract the fiber grams from it. subtract insoluable fiber as well. what's left is what you have to worry about or count towards your carb intake for the day. those are the sugars.

if you compare quick cooking oatmeal to regular oatmeal, the latter has far fewer sugars thant he prior which uses more gluten to cook faster.

give it a try for a week and see if it helps you maintain or lose weight.
