I eat 1/2 cup of oatmeal with either milk or water.

Oatmeal is ok as long as it isn't the "quick cooking" kind because its very low sugars 9quick cooking has high sugar/glycemic index thats why its quicker)--all the carbs are fiber, which is acceptable for a low carb diet.
