Recently diagnosed with PCOSFrom: Patricia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 22 Aug 2003 02:39:29 -0500 (CDT)
Hi there, I am 21 years old and was recently diagnosed with PCOS. Like many of us I am overweight. I want to lose about 100 pounds but I would be ok with 80. I had a high metabolism before getting PCOS ( about 3 1/2 years ago) and ate whatever I wanted. I have continued to eat whatever I wanted and have gained about 80 pounds! I have started walking at least 4 times a week and am loving it. My problem is the low carb diet. My doctor didn't suggest that I do it, I decided on my own...anyway I found that I was constantly hungry! Has anyone else experienced this? Also has anyone here had good results while still enjoying a few carbs? I would like to start a low calorie, reduced carb and sugar diet but my family thinks I should only do low carb. I want to try it my way and see. Any thoughts?
