Hi, Mary. I am breastfeeding and have just begun a low-carb diet. I have consulted my doctor and a nutritionist, as well as a lactation consultant. This type of diet is fine as long as you are getting adequate nutrition in the form of a supplement. Calcium is very important. Also, be sure to get some good carbs in the form of vegetables such as lettuce, cucmbers and zucchini. Finally, drink plenty of water and stay active. Good luck.
