DEPRESSED and FRUSTRATEDFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 1 Jul 2003 11:22:06 -0500 (CDT)
Just a little history for you, I am in my early 30's, but I have gained so much weight from PCOS. I went to an endocrine specialist and he was very empathetic and hopefully will be able to get me on the right track with my PCOS. I have all the visible signs of it; for example, skin tags, weight gain around the stomach, facial, knuckle and abdominal hair, acne, etc. I have also been cursed with endo as well and have been told at my last doctor appt I will need to have a second lap surgery since it has come back. I am depressed because it seems like I keep getting fatter and fatter and more self conscious and it is making me depressed. My specialist ordered a bunch of lab work on me and I will know the results next week when I go back to see him about it. I am 5ft, 4 1/2 inches and weigh about 185 pounds and it keeps getting higher and higher. I have attempted the low carb thing, but since I am a picky eater, it is really hard to follow. I do have a very supportive boyfriend who is very understanding of this (thank goodness), but I just don't feel as attractive with all these things! Any suggestions would be absolutely wonderful!! Becky
